This grizzly bear (Ursus arctos horribilis), with his distinctive scars is an iconic sight in Yellowstone. He is known as "Scarface" to Park regulars. The injuries were most likely the result of a fight with another bear, probably a female protecting cubs. Look for him from Mount Washburn through the Canyon area and Hayden Valley.
