The Brooks Range is a mountain range in far northern North America, entirely north of the Arctic Circle. It stretches from west to east across northern Alaska and into Canada's Yukon Territory, a total distance of about 700 mi. The mountains top out at over 9,000 ft. The range is believed to be approximately 126 million years old. This portion of the Brooks Range is within the Gates of the Arctic National Park, Alaska.
